Kohala Divers welcomes you to the beautiful, uncrowded Kohala Coast. Join us on our spacious dive boat Namaka, custom built with divers’ needs in mind. Namaka is named after a Hawaiian ocean goddess, and she delivers the royal treatment to all on board. With spacious decks and multiple seating and viewing areas, you have plenty of room to spread out and be in your own world at sea.
The Kohala Coast has the least rainfall on Hawaii Island, which leads to spectacularly clear waters. As the oldest part of the island, the reef has had time to develop into interesting ledges, arches, lava tubes, and tunnels teeming with sea life to explore. From the tiniest nudibranchs and invertebrates to large mantas, dolphins, turtles, reef sharks, and even seasonal humpback whales, our selection of over 20 sites boasts all the best diving Big Island has to offer.

Went to Kohala divers to give diving a try. It was a pretty epic day. Alan was in his element teaching us the ropes in the pool followed by a 45 foot dive in the ocean. He eased the nerves and was a great diving instructor. The whole operation was professional and everyone was extremely nice from the owner to the captain to the employees. There was a group of kids on the boat and they let them jump off and swim. The captain also went out of his way to get convince a pod of Dolphins to ride the front of the boat. Excellent experience !

We dive 2 days with Kohala Divers, and they are a Professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic place! Capt Chuck and dive guides, Alan, Tyler and Mike were awesome. My husband and I are experienced divers and at first we’re concerned since the boat takes Snorklers too. Well not to worry, everything was seamless...groups paired by experience, some private or training dives and Snorklers, everyone had a guide and a great experience. Boat is fantastic, warm showers??? Yay 😀 easy entry and exit. Crew anticipated everyone’s needs and took care of everything. I highly recommend this dive company and we will definitely be diving with them again!

We had a wonderful time with Captain Chuck, and our instructors Jason and Kelleen who expertly guided our family of 4 through our PADI open water certification dives of the Kohala coast. The boat is spotless and they take the safety overall and the COVID protocols very seriously which we really appreciated. Great diving spots, diverse sea life and knowledgeable and friendly crew made the two days with Kohala Divers a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Wanted to give SCUBA diving a try without the commitment of certifying. Mike was an awesome instructor, very laid back, very funny, made me feel comfortable in the water. Had a nice calming presence about him I was grateful for. Did the whole lesson in this bad ass pool looking over top the coast, awesome place. Wish the pool was a touch bigger to get to practice swimming around a bit more. Nice intro though that goes through basic safety tips that scratch the surface of what you’ll learn when you certify so I thought it was nice to see if it’s something you really want to commit to :)
