Age Requirements & Policies for Kohala Divers Activities
General Age Requirements
- Dive & Snorkel Charters: Ages 6 and up
- Whale Watching & Private Charters: All ages welcome
- Minors (under 18): Parent or legal guardian must sign all liability releases
Supervision Requirements
- Children under 15: Must be accompanied by an adult on the boat and at the pool
- Snorkelers under 10: A parent/guardian must be available to enter the water if needed (even if not snorkeling/diving themselves)
- Divers ages 10–11 (certified or students): Must be accompanied by a
private guide on all boat dives
Diving-Specific Policies for Ages 10–11
- Certified Junior Divers (10–11 years old):
- Must enroll as junior divers with a maximum depth of 40 feet
- Must be paired with a private dive guide for all boat dives
- Students ages 10–11:
- Require instruction tailored to their age and comfort level
- Must dive with personalized support to maintain safety
- Family Option:
- Family members completing certification may be able to join the private session, depending on group fit
